CSA Newsletter Week 12 - Changes to the CSA!

Dear Farm Members,

We have some exciting news; we are getting a software upgrade! Okay maybe that doesn’t sound that exciting, but trust me, it is. Here are some key takeaways:

  • First, you will now access information about your shares with Mountain Bounty from this webpage: (https://mountainbounty.csaware.com/store/ ). In a separate email, we will ask you to claim your account, which will connect your email address with your current shares and create an account with CSAware, our new member management software. If you have an automatic payment scheduled with our prior software, it will remain in place until the current winter shares end in May.

  • We have gotten rid of the summer and winter sign up “seasons” since our vegetable shares go year-round. However, we are still a farm founded on the ideals of the CSA framework, meaning that we ask for an upfront commitment from you and in return, we will provide you with the fruits of our life’s work -- the bounty of our harvest. Thus, the most economical subscription option in our new system is to pay for 6 months, or 25 deliveries, no matter the time of year you sign up. The price for this option has not changed. These 6-month memberships will not auto-renew.

  • Here’s a really big new change: Due to member demand, we have created a new flexible share option. You can now sign up for a pay-as-you-go membership with payment in 4 delivery increments. This means you can sign up for any amount of time that fits your schedule. These memberships will auto-renew (until you let us know you don’t wish to continue).

  • Unlimited vacation holds! We know you all are busy and it can be a challenge to schedule your life around a weekly delivery. You can now log into your account with CSAware and place your shares on hold or change your pickup site whenever you wish. Your account will automatically be credited for the weeks you'll miss.

  • If you share your CSA with a friend, some things have changed. While there can only be one primary member who pays for the shares, you can still have multiple emails associated with the account. Each partner will be able to log into the Member Dashboard and view your shares and delivery calendar.

We appreciate you as members of our CSA and thank you for your support during this transition. Please let us know if you have any comments or questions about our upcoming changes.

Your Farmer and CSA Manager,

Grace Debbeler

RECIPES

Recipes may sometimes call for more or less of a certain item in your boxes, or an ingredient you might not have on hand. We encourage you to enjoy the creativity associated with eating locally and seasonally.

We can't wait to warm up with this cauliflower and potato curry.  We are having roasted leeks with herb vinaigrette or potato and leek salad to reap all the health benefits of leeks. For our simple stir fry, we're adding sauteed baby bok choy to our broccoli, carrots and onions. We are celebrating our love for vegetables this Valentine's Day by adding heart-shaped roasted beets and mandarins to our salads.
