FAQ

  • Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a movement in which farmers sell directly to consumers, forming a unique community, or partnership with them. In a CSA, subscribers help support small, regional farms by paying in advance for fresh, organic produce delivered weekly throughout the year. CSA is good for consumers. With CSA, the variety of fresh, delicious food delivered to you is regionally grown using a minimum amount of fuel and packaging. Most importantly, CSAs provide the consumer with a direct connection to the place where their food is grown and the people that grow it. Eatwell Farm’s CSA members will have opportunities to visit the farm, get to know the farmers and other members of the CSA community, and learn more about sustainable agriculture.

CSA is good for farmers. Farmers receive a steady source of income and a guaranteed market for their produce, which relieves much of the risk of small-scale farming. And through CSA, farmers are able to plan and pick crops more effectively.

  • CSA prices range from 28-40/week depending on size and delivery location. Most up to date pricing is on our CSA ordering site, https://mountainbounty.csaware.com/store/

  • Each week our farmers curate a box of perfectly ready, seasonal produce for our CSA shares. We currently do not offer any form of customization. You can pass along produce that you don’t like to a friend or family, or set up a trade box at your drop site.

  • The Regular Box is 9-12 items each week and is appromiately the size of a standard grocery bag.

The Small Box is 5-9 items each week and about 2/3 the size of a standard grocery bag.

  • Since we are harvesting produce based upon the number of CSA Boxes ordered, we need a heads up if there are additions to, or holds on deliveries. This deadline gives us enough time to plan our box contents for the next week.

  • We send weekly newsletters and email/text on the day of delivery, so we hope this doesn’t happen! But if it does, check your delivery reminder email to see if your site offers late pick up. Site hosts are graciously offering their space so please respect their privacy.
