How to Pick Up Your CSA
Each week we deliver vegetables, fruit, and flowers to convenient community locations. We’ll send a CSA Newsletter on Monday with farm news, box contents and recipes. The morning of your delivery we will send you an email (or text) reminder with information about the pick up hours and pick up address. Information about our pick up sites can be found here.
While our vegetable shares go year-round, the fruit and flower shares are seasonal. It’s important for you to check your member dashboard regularly about the numbers of deliveries remaining for your shares. We’ll also remind you in the weekly newsletter.
During the designated pick up time, you can visit your site to collect your weekly shares.
There is a delivery list located at each site with a detailed list of what has been delivered for you.
Please only take what is listed next to your name.
Sign the delivery list each week.
Bring your boxes back each week and stack them neatly in an unfolded pile at the site each week.
HOW TO PICK UP DURING COVID-19 OUTBREAK (Effective March 2020):
We will be temporarily shortening the pickup hours for all sites and asking you to pick up by 7 pm. Please maintain social distancing while you pick up. If you have an issue, let us know and we will help sort it out.
The delivery list is an integral part of our operation. We ask that you bring your own pen to the drop site and initial for your order. As always, please only take what has been delivered for you.
We ask that you only touch the box/bag/bouquet that are a part of your order.
We are asking that you pick up your box from the site and take it home with you to prevent the amount of time you are spending at your CSA site. If you’d like to pack it into a reusable bag, please feel free to do that at your car.
If you are sick, please send a friend to pick up for you and let them know about the pick up procedure.
All produce has been packed by farm employees who are in good health and following our food safety policies.
If there's a problem, please take what we’ve delivered for you and contact us by email or phone.
If you share your subscription, please make sure you check in every week about who will pick up so one of you does not accidentally take someone else's order.
If you send someone else to pick up for you, please make sure they know the pick up procedure.
2. Pick Up Sites
Many of our pick up sites are private homes and we ask that you are respectful of your hosts’ privacy. Please only visit the site during the designated pick up times, even to return your boxes.
More information about our available pick up sites and hours can be found here.
3. Important Dates and Delivery Schedule
Western Nevada County: Tuesdays, May 19 - November 3, 2020. Pickups in Western Nevada County change to Wednesday on November 11, 2020
Truckee, Tahoe, and Reno: Thursdays, year-round
Vegetable Shares
Our Vegetable Shares are offered year-round and we are moving away from the traditional “seasons” we’ve had in the past. You can sign up at any time for either a pay every 4 week subscription or a 6 month commitment, no matter the time of the year. Check your delivery calendar from your member dashboard to keep track of how many deliveries you have remaining.
You will get an email reminder to resubscribe when you have 2 paid deliveries remaining.
If you place your vegetable share on hold, your subscription will extend one week into the future.
Summer Fruit Shares (Seasonal)
Western Nevada County: Tuesdays, June 2 through October 6, 202.
Truckee, Tahoe, and Reno: Thursdays, June 4 through October 8, 2020.
If you place your fruit share on hold, you will receive credit which you can use towards your next renewal.
Summer Flower Shares (Seasonal)
Western Nevada County: Tuesdays, 12 weeks, July - September. Exact dates TBA.
Truckee, Tahoe, and Reno: Thursdays, 12 weeks July - September. Exact dates TBA.
If you place your flower share on hold, you will receive credit which you can use towards your next renewal.
Holidays
We will bring you the best local, organic CSA farm boxes possible, in almost all weather (we haven’t missed a week yet!).
Thanksgiving week pickups are on Wednesday, November 27 for everyone.
We are closed December 21 - January 4, 2021 and do not deliver those weeks.
We deliver as usual all remaining weeks of the year.
4. Place Your Box on Hold
It is easy to place your box on hold from your Member Dashboard!
If you are going out of town and would like to skip a delivery, you can login to your account, click on the calendar, and select the day you will be away. Then click the HOLD button and choose to either hold your delivery or donate it. We need one weeks notice for holds.
Unfortunately, we can not take last minute cancellations, so we suggest asking a friend to pick up for you if you find you are unable to pick up the week of the delivery.
5. Subscription Types
Year-round Vegetable shares
Pay for 25 deliveries (at anytime of the year) and receive 10% off
Pay every 4 deliveries and your subscription will automatically renew until you choose to cancel.
Seasonal Fruit and Flowers
Pay for the whole season (season length vary) and receive 10% off
For seasonal fruit you can pay every 4 deliveries but only last the length of the season. You will have to renew for each season (i.e. Winter Fruit and Summer Fruit)
6. How to Renew your Subscription
From your Member Dashboard, you can Click "View/Modify Subscription" (Don't click "Purchase or renew subscription")
You will see your current order details including remaining delivery credits. Under Payments, click the gray button that says "Buy Delivery Credits"
Change the delivery credits. You will receive a 10% discount as a current subscriber when you sign up for more than 25 delivery credits.
The purchase of these box credits will add to your current subscription credit count. You can use the Delivery Calendar to track your remaining deliveries. If you've placed your box on hold, you have additional deliveries past the season end date. If you have a cash credit on your account, it will automatically appear at checkout. Note: when we moved to the new software, credit was transferred under the first person on your account or the "primary member." Check with your partners if you believe there is a credit on your account.
7. Cancellation Policy
In the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) model of farming, your subscription is an investment in our costs to grow your food for the season, and we are relying on your support to get through the harvest. That said, we know things come up and we will accommodate unforeseen needs to cancel your subscription.
We appreciate the opportunity to address concerns that may arise and help clarify how our program works, so please contact us right away if you are dissatisfied.
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your Member Dashboard. Deliveries that are in motion will still be delivered. Refunds are not automatically distributed. Please reach out to us to arrange a refund for the weeks that were not delivered.
8. Share The Love!
If you’re enjoying your CSA, please tell your friends and neighbors about our CSA. If you refer a friend to our CSA you’ll get a free box and they’ll get $10 off! Thanks for all your support for our small farm!
Member Agreement — please read this!
We will bring you the best local, organic CSA farm boxes possible, in almost all weather (we haven’t missed a week yet!). We will send you a pickup reminder and newsletter with recipes and farm news every week. If there’s a problem, we will help you sort it out.
We are counting on you to:
Come to the pickup site during the day and times listed in your confirmation email ONLY. We suggest you set an alarm reminder on your phone because if you miss your pickup hours, you relinquish your order and the boxes are donated.
Check off your name and order on the delivery list every week, and take only what is listed there (call us if there’s a problem, we’ve only delivered what’s on the list). Please double check the size of veggie boxes.
Read our emails because it's our primary form of communication about your account.
Pay immediately (or arrange payments) upon receipt of your invoice email. We deliver one week without payment yet received, to allow for postal delivery, but your confirmation email is notice of the contract you’ve made and you are responsible for payment even if you do not pick up what we’ve delivered for you.
If you share your subscription, you must check in every week about who will pick up so one of you does not accidentally take someone else's order.
Our volunteer hosts generously share their space with our CSA community and we must honor their privacy and space. Do not disturb them with CSA questions, and do not make them clean up after you. Flatten your returned boxes carefully, stack them neatly, remove trash, etc.
If you send a friend to pickup for you, make sure they know exactly what and how to pickup so they do not create mistakes. Remind them not to disturb the residents.
Cancellations must be in writing or email, at least one week prior to the date of delivery.
