Fruit Share
We gather fruit from several Nevada County farms to
make up the weekly fruit share. All of the fruit is grown
using organic practices, and most is certified organic.
We strive to provide you with the best local tree ripened
fruit, fruit with real flavor and character. This is fruit
you will rarely, if ever, find in the store.
(15 weeks starting in mid-June to early Oct.) The fruit
shares average 6+ pounds of fruit per week (2/3-1 flat)
and varies with the season. The fruit share costs $17.33
per week ($19.33 per week to Truckee). The main focus
is peaches. However, there will be a mix of other local
fruit when available including apples, berries, cherries, figs, nectarines, pears, and plums.
Fruit Share Update May, 2008
| Food in the U.S. travels an average
of 1,300 miles from farm to supermarket. At Mountain
Bounty Farm, the food you get is picked that day, and
comes from less than 10 miles away.
