A guest recipe from a Fruit Share member- Plum Crisp

What to do with all the lovely plums we have been receiving in the Fruit
Share? Answer: Plum Crisp a la Deborah Madison in Vegetarian Cooking for
Everyone, p690.
3lbs of plums quartered and tossed with: 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2tsp
orange zest, and a pinch of dried cloves.
6tbs butter in 1/2in chunks, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2/3 cup flour, 1/2 cup
rolled oats 1/4tsp salt, 1/2tsp ground cinnamon, (pinch nutmeg).
Work the butter etc into a coarse crumble. Cover a shallow 8×10 gratin
dish with fruit etc and cover fruit with crumble. Bake at 375F, ~1hr 10m.
Put a dish under the Crisp to catch drips, fruit will sink a 1-2in during
cooking.
